VVF - Leading the Food Revolution
 Defeating disease
Despite claims that we have never been healthier, almost all the
diseases that destroy people's lives and eventually kill them are
increasing at an alarming rate.
Heart disease, strokes, high blood
pressure, cancer, diabetes and obesity are at epidemic
proportions and diet is one of the primary causes.
Children's eating habits
Alarmingly,
children's eating habits are a national disgrace. They are
developing diseases that were previously seen only in adults and
many are likely to die before their parents. They are eating
themselves into an early grave and animal products carry much
of the blame.
 Factory farming
Factory farming not only causes misery to millions
of animals, the cheap meat it produces is killing us and our
children.
The food revolution
The Vegetarian & Vegan Foundation (VVF) has shouted
this allegation from the rooftops for years but now we are being
joined by others - huge global institutions such as the BMA and
UN.
We also know the solution - a plant-based diet. We are
revolutionaries so please support us and be part of the revolution!
VVF - Campaigning for Health
- Research shows that plant-based diets are the healthiest.
- We monitor the science and make it readable.
- With this knowledge you can make healthy food choices.
- We launch life-saving campaigns.

give you more accurate advice.
- The VVF is a charity helping to
make you and Britain healthier.
"The vast majority of diseases
that kill most of us before our
time in the West can be
prevented by consuming
an all plant-based diet.
There are no nutrients in
animal-based foods
that are not obtained to
better advantage in
plant-based foods."
T. Colin Campbell,
Professor of Nutritional
Biochemistry
"We have all been subjected to
relentless publicity that tries
to persuade us that dairy is
wholesome, natural and good
for our health. It isn't and that
is why I wholeheartedly
support the work of the VVF."

of VVF and Cancer Support

Helping to Save
Children
Most children's diets are appalling - as
shown by ongoing national research. They
gorge on junk food heavy with meat, dairy
products, animal fat, sugar and salt and the
result is the appearance of adult killer
diseases during childhood that will carry on
into later life.
It is an evolutionary disaster. But there is an
answer to diabetes, obesity, high cholesterol levels and the
rest.
The scale of the problem and the cure are spelt out in our
scientific report, Safeguarding Children's Health. Backed up
with our easy-to-read parents' guide, Healthy Veggie Kids, we
provide a simple template for healthy children.
Fish Oil Fallacy
The Government continues to promote
fish oil and oily fish as health foods despite collapsing fish
stocks and research that profoundly disagrees with them.
The
VVF has shown that nearly all oily fish products contain a
cocktail of toxic chemicals such as dioxins, PCBs, flame
retardants and mercury, which negate any supposed health
benefits.
Our publication, The Fish Report, exposes this and
shows that plant oils are far healthier and more effective.
Groundbreaking stuff!
Demolishing
Dairy
Sustained marketing has promoted milk as a
wonder food - essential for growth and
strong bones.
In fact it's the opposite and
damages children's health, as our report White Lies proves.
Referred to as 'controversial', it is backed by sound science -
the same science which the Government and dairy industry
purposely ignore.
Our campaign is helping many people to
realise that dairy products are an essential link in the chain
that leads to their deteriorating health. It also shows them how
to avoid it with cracking non-dairy recipes.
Fat is a Family Issue
Obesity is one of the keys to killer diseases such as
cardiovascular disease, cancer, diabetes and high blood pressure.
Currently in the UK, over half of women and two-thirds of men
are either overweight or obese. And children are
following suit.
The VVF's Globesity report [PDF] sets out why
people become fat and what they can do about it.
Our campaign gives people practical guidance
and inspiration on how to eat more healthily - for
life.
It includes the V-Plan Diet guide with its recipes
for a seven-day menu plan.
 Feeding You
the Facts
Knowledge is power, so become super-powerful
with our extensive range of fact sheets on all the
main health issues - and plus some! Each one is
fully referenced.
Beating Breast
Cancer
One in every nine women in the UK will develop
breast cancer at some point in their lives and
the rate is increasing every year.
For Chinese women the risk
is many times less and therein lies a clue. Diet is increasingly
being linked with this deadly disease.
Our One in Nine report [PDF]
looks at the causes of breast cancer, its link with diet and what
you can do to reduce your risk. The science is crystallised
into our easy-to-read guide,
A Fighting Chance [PDF].
Chicken Little -
or Not at All?
Another persistent myth is that chicken
and other white meats are healthy.
Our
White Meat - Black Mark report [PDF] knocks the legs from under
that claim with the appliance of science. The superbly
colourful guide, White Meat Myths, presents the information
in bite-sized pieces together with delicious recipes.
Dealing with the Big-D
Diabetes cases are exploding in number and diet is a big
influence. With the right kind of diet, the risk of type 1 can be
reduced and type 2 can be avoided entirely - or even reversed if
it has already begun.
Our guide, The Big-D, tells you all about
the disease and how to defeat it with the D-Diet. It is based on
the scientific report, Defeating Diabetes
through Diet.
